॥ Shri Ganeshay Namah ॥
1. O Creator, Supreme Lord — your dwelling (is in) all moving and unmoving; shower grace upon me.
2. Come to my place; help in book-writing; help to complete; in completion itself, peace to mind.
3. The Guru-temple has been (built); only the kalash (dome) remains, the main (thing) remains; to complete that, (I) entreat again.
4. As the Guru-leela temple (is) beautiful, so let the kalash become beautiful; without a kalash a temple — how shall it look beautiful?
5. So much help (you) gave; now for a little (more) the entreaty; again and again this soul entreats; let compassion come to you.
6. Don't leave (me) half-done; thereby I shall prove half-done; let no such difficult situation (come); please complete the half-done.
7. One time the ignorant may be tolerated, but the half-done knower shall not (be) tolerated; (people) shall spurn me, doing slander and condemnation.
8. The half-done finds living heavy; each one criticizes; (I) shall be a burden on the earth; rather let death come quickly.
9. Who shall accept me? You alone shall have to uplift; the book shall have to be completed; how shall (it) do to leave (it) half-done?
10. In completion is your praise, that (he) was helpful; think again and again; take me close.
11. All have sat waiting, eager for the book's completion; have sat right around; began to wait for the completion.
12. Don't (give) just assurance; let your feet be obtained; the devotee-fellowship is waiting; let the heart's desire be fulfilled.
13. Make such a kalash (climax) as (people) shall remember for hours and hours; thereby Guru-company; you alone shall prove worthy of praise.
14. Up to the nineteenth, the leelas of (Maharaj's) lifetime come; in the twentieth chapter, the post-lifetime ones come.
15. In the twenty-first chapter, the essence of all (is) in it; let attention be caught in the writing, by which my own (mere ego) shall not come into it.
16. One who feels he should meet the Lord — let him first invoke the saint. In what is the saint met? — this too the Lord tells.
17. The Name in whose mouth — the saint at his door, the Lord at his door; thereby let the Name be in the mouth.
18. Saints love the company of the Name; spend countless hours in the Name itself; they alone save devotees; put (them) on the right path.
19. So was Saint Gajanan, name-remembrance on his lips; (he) saves the devotee-fellowship — those who remain having become his.
20. Do name-japa so much that Guru Gajanan be pleased; let him alone take (you) close; let him be helpful.
21. Do contemplation of the Name, not just of splendor; remain having become of the Name, by which you shall become Gajanan's.
22. Consider name-japa as the soul; consider splendor as the body; consider the Name as eternal; consider the body as impermanent.
23. The soul has great importance; the soul alone remains immortal; the body is perishable; impress this on the mind.
24. Make such efforts; prove worthy of Guru's grace; chant "Gan Gan Ganat Bote"; thereby let Guru's darshan happen.
25. Remember the Guru's leelas; consider that itself the support; do name-japa thus; let prarabdha become bearable.
26. The Master Gajanan's many leelas — joy in the mind on reading; even now wonder-leelas come into experience.
27. Maharaj manifested at Shegaon, on Magh Krishna Saptami, at midday, at Paturkar's home.
28. In Paturkar's home was the daughter-in-law's rituk-shanti; (it was) wished that a worthy lineage dwell in the home, that good upbringing endure in the home.
29. Karmic fruits depend on karmas; the good fruits of good qualities will be obtained; the well-cultured, virtuous Paturkar — thereby the Yogeshwar manifested at the door.
30. (He) was absorbed in eating the grains of leaf-plates; was conveying that food is Parabrahman; (it) was visible in his action.
31. Bankat-Damodar recognized him; gave vetiver water to drink; (he) went to drink the trough water; muddy and clear are the same to him.
32. The tumba was filled in the stream; showed wonder to Pitambar; spoke the latter half of Govindbuva's kirtan.
33. Govindbuva recognized the authority; gave the Master a high seat; (he) did not fall to insistence; gave instruction to Govindbuva.
34. "Excessive insistence is very bad" — the Master conveyed; conveyed in each action. These stories (are) in the second chapter.
35. The Goswami of Kashi made a vow; (he) gave ganja to the Master; the Master accepted (it); did not pain the Goswami.
36. A convergence of deadly crisis came to Janrao Deshmukh; tirth-angara proved useful; the deadly crisis was averted.
37. Vithoba Ghatole, a pretentious devotee — (Maharaj) spurns his favoritism; thrashes him. These stories in the third chapter.
38. Lit the chillum without a spark; created the principle in the five great elements; recognized through inner-knowledge the kanvale at Chandu Mukin's house.
39. Right karma at the right time; instruction to Madhav; Brahmins came for Vasanta-puja. These stories in the fourth chapter.
40. Maharaj went to Pimpalgaon; (was) shown to be a yogic person; produced water in the dry well. (Stories) come in the fifth chapter.
41. "Tit-for-tat" should not be behaved — this should be impressed on the mind. Bees should sting the Master; the Master should bear (it) quietly.
42. Met Narsing; was happy in mind; conveyed the strength of austerity to Vrajbhushan. (Stories) come in the sixth chapter.
43. Wrestled with Hari Patil; conveyed the strength of yoga; the Patils beat (him) with sugarcanes; yet not a single welt appeared on (his) back.
44. Gave the Patils sugarcane juice; showed (his) vast heart; by Guru's grace Khandu had a son-jewel. The situations come in the seventh chapter.
45. By Guru's grace freed of calamity; Khandu Patil free of fetters; Maharaj expert in the Vedas; the Telangi Brahmins astonished.
46. First do, then say; let there not be pointless kirtan-spectacle; (Maharaj) wished Brahmagiri to be awakened, not to bear an adverse situation.
47. A spark fell on the bed; the bed caught fire quickly; Maharaj just so on the bed. The story-essence (is) in the eighth chapter.
48. Calmed the wild horse; slept between (its) four legs; awakened Govindbuva; conveyed the importance of name-japa.
49. "'He' and 'I' are not separate" — gave instruction to Balkrishna; the yogi manifested in the form of Ramdas. The story (is) for the ninth chapter.
50. Accepts Ganesh Appa's worship; conveys the sign of inner-knowledge; "There should not be competition in devotion" — opposite (results) happen in it.
51. Calmed the cow's wickedness by yogic-leela; cured Lakshman's stomach-ache by leftover mango.
52. "Don't practice pretense" — conveyed to Lakshman; thereby (came) the convergence of poverty for him. Story in the tenth chapter.
53. According to past accumulation, gave beating to Bhaskar; taught the Vedic essence to crows; "Don't (have) the conduct of envy and jealousy."
54. Saved Ganu Javare; brought him out of the explosion; averted his deadly crisis. Situations come in the eleventh chapter.
55. "Whatever pleases someone — by giving that, contentment comes to him." Spurned the ornaments; conveyed (this) to Bachhulal.
56. Leaves sprouted on the withered mango; the sign of Guru's grace was conveyed; took more land than the agreement; the government fine was excused.
57. The fine amount was returned; the sign of wonder was conveyed; Pitambar received Guru's grace. Described in the twelfth chapter.
58. The convergence of Guru's grace for Gangabharati; cured (his) leprosy; averted the rain-confusion; Zhyamsing's bhandara happened without obstacle.
59. The plague-lump on Pundalik; freed from the disease; (Maharaj) cures diseases. Story in the thirteenth.
60. Bandutatya got into debt; the moneylender's interest began; whatever was — all was gone; (Maharaj) made him as before again.
61. For darshan at Omkareshwar, an adverse situation occurred; Narmada herself came for darshan; she protected all.
62. Madhavnath ate and went; forgot the betel-roll right here; (Maharaj) conveys to Vanvale. Story in the fourteenth.
63. Gracious blessing to Lokmanya (Tilak); Gita Rahasya became immortal; destined experience is not avoided by anyone — suggested to Kolhatkar.
64. To Shridhar Govind Kale, gave him instruction: "Don't go to vilayat (foreign)." Story in the fifteenth.
65. Gave padukas to Pundalik; showed him the true Guru; stopped at the third watch for Bhau Kavar's prasad.
66. A pellet went into Tukya's ear; got cured by sweeping the math; conveyed the glory of Guru-service. Story for the sixteenth chapter.
67. Complaint was made for nakedness; won by yogic-strength; Jathar gives the verdict; Bhaskar proved the offender.
68. "Don't act with violence; don't torment people; don't be a burden on the earth" — conveyed to Mehtabsha.
69. To Bapurao's wife, the affliction of bhanamati to her; cured her by angara; convergence of Guru's grace to her.
70. Maharaj went to Akot; met Narsing; produced springs in the well. Story in the seventeenth.
71. The protection of Bayja's honor; Vitthal-darshan to Bapuna; gave tirth-angara to Bhau; cured the boil.
72. The dog dead on the road; brings (it) alive by foot-touch; great influence in the touch. These stories in the eighteenth.
73. Foretold the future to Kashinath; told the news of transfer; gracious blessing to Gopalbuti — a son-jewel was had to him.
74. (He) recognizes beforehand; tells Balabhau: Rangnath of Dhar comes; Vasudevanand of Mangaon comes.
75. Three paths of obtaining knowledge: bhakti, karma and yoga; among them the easy is the path of devotion; yoga and karma (are) difficult paths.
76. Told Salubai: "Stay in the math for cooking." (Maharaj's) Vedic knowledge — conveyed to Atmaram.
77. Awakened Timaji; protected the field from donkeys; the constable beat Maharaj; death came to the constable.
78. Household happiness for Hari Jakhada; yoga-knowledge for Nimonkar; knowing the heart of devotees, completion by gracious blessing.
79. "Don't forget the made vow" — told to Tukaram Kokate; (Maharaj) himself knew the samadhi day; told (it) to Hari Patil.
80. Seats Balabhau on the seat; says "Our work is over"; took mahasamadhi on Rishi-Panchami. Story in the nineteenth.
81. Awakened Ganpat's wife: "Let (him) behave in the husband's wish; (you) shall not (be) deprived of garments and ornaments by giving charity on Dasara."
82. "Don't be wearied of household troubles" — gave darshan to Janjal; flood comes to the Man river; saved Madhav Martand Joshi.
83. In the form of a beggar (he) gave darshan to Yadav; brought him profit in the cotton trade.
84. Did not let (him) go to Telhari, on the vyatipat convergence; stops Bhau, for the tirth-prasad.
85. Dinkar was surrounded by the sobani disease; got better by the sherni vow; the illness that came to Chandrabhaga got better by tirth-angara.
86. Ramchandra's wife became free of madness; the circumambulations of the math bore fruit; the woman of Jaipur came to the festival; the affliction of spirit-ghost was averted.
87. A mason fell from thirty feet; (Maharaj) caught him at that moment; the yogi was not seen by anyone; in a moment became invisible.
88. Gave darshan to Ramchandra Patil; told him "Don't (give) dakshina; look after the affairs of the math."
89. An obstacle came in (the) Shata-Chandi (yajna); by Guru's grace became without obstacle; knowing the pure motive of devotees, Maharaj comes running.
90. After samadhi, Maharaj gives darshan; protects his devotees; conveys the importance of faith. Stories come in the twentieth.
91. Gana-Maharaj tells from personal experience; tells here with assurance: do name-remembrance with faith; thereby Maharaj's coming.
92. As darshan, conversation for Gana-Maharaj, may it be obtained for all alike. This is the prayer to Maharaj. May joy be obtained for all.
93. Gana-Maharaj tells the devotees: he who feels he should be free of calamity — let him invoke Gajanan, the mantra "Gan Gan Ganat Bote."
94. Should do five Thursdays with faith; should take darshan of the Guru at Shegaon; should do five pilgrimages to Shegaon; thereby be freed of calamity.
95. Should not speak with another during recitation; should keep consciousness on Gajanan; recitation in the fixed resolve; importance in (its) being completed.
96. When there is earnestness of mind, why shall the resolve not be fulfilled? A firm resolve is needed; the Guru proves the support.
97. Do such recitation that Guru Gajanan himself may give darshan; Guru's help may be obtained; pure motives may be fulfilled.
98. Pithle, zhunka, bhakar; rose flowers and the day Thursday — very dear to Maharaj; but importance is great for faith.
99. Don't forget Ganpati and Saraswati; (they) gave a vision to Gana-Maharaj; the command to Gana-Maharaj: "Write the Guru Gajanan Leela Granth."
100. In 1987, on Magh Krishna Saptami, on the Guru's manifestation day, on the date 20 February 1987, the command for book-writing came.
101. Blessings of mother, father, family deities; blessings of P.P. Yogiraj Master Gajanan; blessings of P.P. Pandurang Shastri Athavale Guru — always behind (me) without dispute.
102. Without the help of wife Mrs. Suniti, the book-writing did not happen; son Devendra and daughter Pradnya gave consent for book-writing.
103. Brother Chandrakant (Deepak), brother Shyamkant (Aniruddha), supreme devotee Manubhai Kothari among (them); Mrs. Indutai Nene was in the saptaha.
104. On Thursday, the date 26 February 1987, on the day of Mahashivaratri, in the evening watch, the book reaches completion.
105. P.P. Rajaram Maharaj Gadre (Vadodara) on the first day; P.P. Dattatreya Shastri Prakashkar (Vadodara) at the completion ceremony — the blessings of these great personages were obtained for Gana-Maharaj.
106. Indirect-direct help to Gana-Maharaj — thereby itself the book reaches completion; thereby joy for all; (this) awareness (is) for Gana-Maharaj.
107. Now (I) entreat Gajanan: in the description of Guru-leela, if there is any deficiency, let pardon (be given) to Gana-Maharaj.
108. P.P. Das Ganu's "Gajanan Vijay Granth," "Gajanan Kathasar" by Dr. Bhingarkar, the pothi by Sakalkale — proved helpful for the book.
109. On Dashami, Ekadashi, Dwadashi, on the Guru-Pushya Nakshatra convergence, likewise on Thursday, one should read the twenty-one chapters.
110. One who shall read the book with faith, who shall read with pure motive, who shall read with earnestness — his heart's desire shall be fulfilled.
