॥ Shri Gajanan Maharaj Prasanna ॥
॥ Shri Athavale Guru Prasanna ॥
Madhavi, you (are) a daughter of the maternal home
(You) shall become a daughter-in-law of the in-laws' home ॥ refrain ॥
At dawn, with sea-clad (Earth as garment),
Begin the day with (the appropriate) hand-tip-dwelling (mantra),
With pleased feeling, with pleased mind,
Welcome with pleased consciousness,
Welcome the dawn,
Tea/coffee with heartfelt feeling,
Remember the joy of night,
Day and night worship the husband-deity.
Madhavi, you (are) a daughter of the maternal home
(You) shall become a daughter-in-law of the in-laws' home ॥ 1 ॥
Mother-in-law, father-in-law — father-mother;
Catch (their) words moment to moment;
Always obeying the command,
Win their goodwill;
Tossing (their) blessings,
They shall be content in life;
Picking those flowers one by one,
Live, having uplifted in life.
Madhavi, you (are) a daughter of the maternal home
(You) shall become a daughter-in-law of the in-laws' home ॥ 2 ॥
Brother-in-law, sister-in-law — brother and sister;
Let such feeling remain in mind;
Considering uncles as one's own,
Don't (have) discriminating feeling ever in mind;
Blooming each one's bud,
Let the tree of love bloom in the home;
Loving feeling, sattvik conduct,
Whatever manifests in the heart.
Madhavi, you (are) a daughter of the maternal home
(You) shall become a daughter-in-law of the in-laws' home ॥ 3 ॥
Your home was not known;
What was written in destiny;
It was known the longing comes;
Awaits the auspicious moment;
Whatever (was) of the maternal home,
That shall mix in the in-laws';
Maternal-in-laws, don't (have) that distinction;
Let it remain only for namesake.
Madhavi, you (are) a daughter of the maternal home
(You) shall become a daughter-in-law of the in-laws' home ॥ 4 ॥
What teaching of the mother:
Of cultured graciousness;
Of hospitality with loving feeling;
Of intimacy in relationships;
Of welcoming with smiling face;
Skill and capability of the mother;
You have the practice of experience,
Of the mother's guidance.
Madhavi, you (are) a daughter of the maternal home
(You) shall become a daughter-in-law of the in-laws' home ॥ 5 ॥
Cooking should be tasty;
Meal at meal-time;
Smiling expressions on the face;
Belch of contentment should come;
There should be a balanced diet,
Beneficial for health;
On serving with insistence,
The eater shall be content.
Madhavi, you (are) a daughter of the maternal home
(You) shall become a daughter-in-law of the in-laws' home ॥ 6 ॥
(Your) father (is) of cultured impressions,
Great emphasis on sattvik;
Always remembers Raghunandan,
Loves Raghuvir Samartha greatly;
Shridhar Swami within (his heart),
Utters the words from within;
Great pull of Sajjangad;
Sajjangad itself (is his) maternal home.
Madhavi, you (are) a daughter of the maternal home
(You) shall become a daughter-in-law of the in-laws' home ॥ 7 ॥
What teaching of the father —
Of Samartha Dasbodha;
Of staying detached while living life,
Teaching of the highest order;
Doing worldly life and (having) the pull of the spiritual
Should be in the heart;
Of living in surrender-feeling,
But not accepting servility.

(You) shall become a daughter-in-law of the in-laws' home ॥ 8 ॥
Your brother Mukunda (is) such,
The very seal of Ganesh's grace;
Faith in Siddhivinayak,
He says: "Keep faith on him;
Bringer of joy, my Ganesha,
Remover of obstacles, my Ganesha;
How destined experience (becomes) bearable —
As your brother has the experience."

Chaturmas, festivals;
Place burden on religiousness;
When religious-conduct is there,
His grace upon (us);
Don't (have) burden on display,
Don't (have) that on ostentation;
On the inner purity,
The Trimurti shall be content.
Madhavi, you (are) a daughter of the maternal home
(You) shall become a daughter-in-law of the in-laws' home ॥ 10 ॥
While taking each step,
Don't forget graciousness;
Momentary unrestraint,
Difficult to recover the balance;
Don't (have) complexity in life,
Burning the soul moment to moment;
For nourishing the tree of life,
The moisture of love moment to moment.

(You) shall become a daughter-in-law of the in-laws' home ॥ 11 ॥
Various dishes in the meal,
Essential in diet;
Becoming all delicious,
You shall win in worldly life;
Looking at time and season in cooking,
Make changes in it;
Becoming expert in cooking-science,
Annapurna should be in the home.
