1) To the Creator of the universe, the Sustainer, to the family deity, to Dattatreya.

2) To my mother and father — who sowed the seed of excellent upbringing.

3) To my wife — who put me on the right path, convinced me of the importance of contented disposition, helped in every way in the path of devotion.

4) To P.P. Gajanan Maharaj (Shegaon) — who convinced me of the importance of name-japa, drove me mad (with longing for it), absorbed me in it, convinced what is supreme between Name and Form; likewise convinced me: "Do name-japa such that the Guru himself comes home; (you) become the Lord's, in single-minded devotion to the Guru; thereby no torment of household life." Only because of chanting the mantra "Gan Gan Ganat Bote" did I obtain the feet of P.P. Pandurang Shastri Athavale Guru.

5) Saint Das Ganu Maharaj, Shri Sakalkale, Dr. Bhingarkar — who impressed Guru Gajanan Maharaj's leelas on (our) minds through their writing styles.

6) P.P. Pandurang Shastri Athavale — who established the seat of name-japa for me; with his gracious blessing, awakened the power of poetry; gave darshan again and again in name-japa, and kept (me) in contemplation of self-knowledge and philosophy.

7) Children — for achieving oneness in name-japa service, my son Devendra and daughter Pradnya, both helped from time to time.

8) To well-wishers, the devotee-fellowship, helpers of the book — those because of whom this book has come into the hands of devotees — to all of them I am indebted.

9) In the year 1998, while son Shri Devendra and his wife Mrs. Pallavi Devendra Phadke were residing in America, they did the computer setting of this book.
